Greg Guy’s Tideline Partners Brokers Dual Charlotte Market Radio Sales for Radio One

Tideline Partners LLC, the Charlotte-based media brokerage firm led by Greg Guy, has successfully brokered two separate radio station transactions on behalf of Radio One (Urban One), marking a significant pair of deals in the Charlotte, North Carolina market.

The first sale involves WLNK-FM 100.9, a Class A FM station licensed to Indian Trail, N.C. The buyer is the Bible Broadcast Network (BBN), which is paying $4.2 million for the property. The acquisition represents a meaningful upgrade for BBN’s Charlotte-area coverage. The network currently reaches the market via WYFQ-FM in Wadesboro, N.C. — a station whose signal falls short of key communities like Gastonia. With WLNK, BBN gains improved reach into Gastonia and Kannapolis, making the station a strategic addition to their portfolio.

Guy’s Tideline Partners represented Radio One in the transaction, with a 10% escrow deposit held by Tideline Partners LLC.

The second deal involves WMXG-FM 99.3, licensed to Chester, S.C., a simulcast partner to WLNK that serves Rock Hill and surrounding South Carolina communities within the Charlotte market footprint. Tideline Partners also brokered this sale on behalf of Radio One. The buyer is the Augusta Radio Fellowship Institute, the licensee behind the “Good News Network” brand of stations. A purchase price of $725,000 has been agreed upon — with $50,000 allocated to real property and the remainder to the broadcast licenses. A $72,500 escrow deposit is being held by Tideline Partners LLC.

The WLNK call letters themselves carry a notable history in the Queen City. They first appeared in Charlotte on March 18, 1997, and were long associated with 107.9 MHz before that frequency transitioned to the heritage WBT-FM calls in December 2025. The WLNK branding then moved to the 100.9 frequency in Indian Trail. While the stations are being sold, Urban One has confirmed it will retain the WLNK call sign, leaving open the question of where the calls may land next.

Urban One’s remaining Charlotte properties include heritage News/Talk WBT, Sports Talk WFNZ-FM, Adult R&B WOSF-FM, and Black Gospel WOSF-FM HD2 “Praise 102.5.”

Both transactions underscore Tideline Partners’ continued role as a trusted dealmaker in the broadcast media space.
